JOBS! We're among the front-running cities in job creation.

Where there’s economic growth, there’s opportunity. We have both. When you look at drivers of the provincial economy, look to Prince George. We’re experiencing growth in wholesale and retail trade, manufacturing, the services-producing sector, construction, and health care and social assistance. The number of people employed increased by 1,400 from 2016 to 2017.

We’re growing. Grow with us.

We offer a low cost of living.

Everything is more affordable here. The average house price and rent are consistently lower than in other mid-sized and larger cities across Canada and gas prices are often the lowest in British Columbia. All of this means you’ll have more money for the things that matter to you.

Buying your dream house is a realistic goal.

There are homes all over British Columbia and Canada that are lovely to behold, but the buying price is a sticker shock for seasoned real estate investors, first-time and move-up buyers alike. Vancouver is now the most expensive city in North America and one of the most expensive in the world; larger, nicer and newer homes in Prince George sell for a small fraction of prices in Vancouver.

Take a look at how Prince George measures up: get in the market and get ahead here.

We're central.

It’s a common misconception that Prince George is quite northern. However, the city is actually in Central BC and it only takes a little over an hour to fly from the Prince George Airport to the Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton or Victoria Airports. Not to mention major provincial Highways 16 and 97 intersect in Prince George connecting the city to Vancouver and Edmonton and offering another option for the business or leisure traveller.

We are a city of 74,000 people that offers all of the amenities of larger Canadian cities. Arts, shopping, restaurants, breweries, a winery, nightlife, healthcare, higher education – we have it all! But you will still get smiles and hellos as you walk down our safe and friendly streets.
