The Prince George Native Friendship Centre (PGNFC) has grown and continues to be one of the largest and busiest community service delivery agencies in Prince George. Our clientele of Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples have supported the Centre’s program offerings for the last 50 years. The PGNFC provides culturally appropriate programming to meet the community’s unique and diverse needs. We offer a wide variety of services, which includes education, employment, health, early childhood, and social programs.

Placing weekly food orders/stocking/shelving/food preparation

Preparation of nutritious and balanced meals/snacks for up to 60 individuals 

Come join our dynamic team as a:  Cook (PT/Weekends)

The Prince George Native Friendship Centre is seeking a part time Cook for Ketso Yoh which provides Emergency Shelter, Outreach, and Supportive Housing for men who are experiencing homeless or at risk of homelessness, mental health and/or addiction issues. This position will report to the Coordinator of the facility.

SCOPE OF POSITION

• Prepare and cook for up to 60 individuals
• Place food orders
• Ability to work within a dynamic team
• Team approach to having others work in the kitchen
• Cleanliness, general maintenance and time management
• Ensure safety and security of the facility, clients and other team members
• Working in conjunction with other agencies

QUALIFICATIONS

• First Aid
• Food Safe
• WHMIS
• Clean criminal record check
• Knowledge of and experience working with an Aboriginal client group
• Good physical condition with an ability to clean and maintain a commercial kitchen
