About The Opportunity:
In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for preparing detailed design and as-built plans and for providing technical fieldwork in support of Civic Operations. You will gain valuable experience in project management by taking on small scale projects, as assigned. You will have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise to ensure all work complies with current municipal, provincial, federal and environmental standards. In the Utilities portfolio, you will be responsible for the delivery of capital projects and technical support for operational aspects related to utilities (District Energy System, water, sanitary and storm sewer). In this fast-paced position, you will be responsible for delivering all aspects of municipal infrastructure projects from concept through post-construction documentation. Careful analysis, timely communication and detailed planning skills are essential for your success in this role.
About Your Background:
We are seeking highly motivated professional with a two-year post-secondary Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology. You hold a designation as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) (or out of province equivalent) and have completed project management courses or have obtained the Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification. You have a minimum of five years of experience with survey, design and management of municipal construction projects, preferably in the municipal or municipal consulting field. Preference will be given to candidates with sanitary and sewer experience. A full privilege Class 5 BC driver’s license (or out of province equivalent) is required.
