An exciting opportunity to contribute to the Fish and Wildlife Program in British Columbia
The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is responsible for stewardship of Provincial Crown land and natural resources, and protection of B.C.’s archaeological and heritage resources.
The Fish and Wildlife Section Head is accountable for supervision of staff at the professional or specialist level. This position manages staff and financial resources, ensures achievement of and evaluates the outcomes of program goals (e.g., Fish and Wildlife) and applies legislation, policies and professional standards. The Section Head leads projects and strategic initiatives to address large-scale and controversial issues within its geographic area.
Biologists are responsible for the application of biological principles to aquatic and terrestrial systems through advising, planning, teaching, researching, and assessing impacts. The Fish and Wildlife Section Head may also be responsible for conducting, reporting upon, or supervising any phase of administration or management of aquatic or terrestrial renewable resources, including the inventory, evaluation, maintenance, enhancement, conservation, restoration and protection of renewable resources.
