About The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional with a planning background. Working as part of the Development Services team, you will be responsible for planning work involving the processing of a full range of land use applications, preparation of plans and reports, field work, data collection and analysis, research, report writing, consultation with design professionals, developers and the public as well as representing the department on various technical staff committees. You’ll display independent judgment, self-motivation, creative problem solving, political acumen, communication skills, accuracy and detail, and skill in prioritizing and organizing a demanding workload.
About Your Background:
To qualify for this role, you have a degree in land use, environmental or regional planning recognized by the Canadian Institute of Planners. Your professional experience includes a minimum of one year of related experience. The ideal candidate has membership or eligibility for membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners. You also have a strong track record of displaying independent judgment, are self-motivated and enjoy creative problem solving. A valid full privilege Class 5 BC Drivers’ License (or out of province equivalent) is required.
