About the opportunity:
The Senior Advisor for Intergovernmental Relations is responsible for enhancing the City of Prince George’s efforts in intergovernmental relations and promoting the City’s priorities with various governmental bodies and municipal advocacy groups. A key aspect of this role is to support and guide the City’s commitments and initiatives related to Indigenous relations and reconciliation. In this position you will collaborate with both internal and external partners, including representatives from Indigenous nations and organizations, to build strong relationships that align with the City’s vision, mission, values, and the strategic plan set by City Council.
About your background:
You have a bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, political science, or a related field. An equivalent combination of training, education, and experience may also be considered. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of three years of diverse professional experience in community building, government, and Indigenous relations. Experience in advocacy and developing strong relationships with government representatives are essential. Work experience in municipal government is an asset.
