The Opportunity: Woodlands Controller

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer as a member of the Finance team, the Woodlands Controller will be a key strategic business partner and member of our Woodlands Team. This position requires an individual with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, and an ability to contribute to a positive culture based on mutual trust and respect while delivering results.

As an integral part of the team, you will be responsible for financial management of the Sinclar Woodlands operations, while also providing longer-term strategic input and advice. A proven team leader, you collaborate and foster effective relationships between the Sinclar Woodlands Team and the Sinclar Finance Team.

Exercising your considerable judgment, integrity and discretion, you will manage the activities of the Woodlands Finance Team, including the production of monthly cost statements, forecasts, and business plans. You have exceptional financial analysis skills, and are experienced in developing and monitoring internal controls and process improvements. You will also play a significant role in the internal and external auditing processes, requiring you to be current on all government regulations regarding forestry accounting.
As an experienced leader, you demonstrate strong and effective communication skills, as well as the ability to inspire excellence in those around you through effective coaching and mentoring.

As the successful candidate, you hold your Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or demonstrate equivalent education and experience. You have strong problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills, and are highly organized with an ability to prioritize workload and meet demanding deadlines. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. Knowledge of 3Log LIMS and Microsoft Dynamics NAV is an asset.
