Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist
Laura Heagy – Special Occasion Stylist
“Fierce and confident, Laura Heagy has talent and determination streaming out of her every hair on her fiery redhead,” exclaimed one supporter. A hard-working mother of two, she punches the figurative clock at Employment Action, a non-profit organization endeavoring to improve employment opportunities for residents of Northern BC. She does everything from IT and office management to spear-heading team building events and project management, a Jill of all trades.
She is also the owner of her makeup and hairstyling company, Laura Heagy—Special Occasion Stylist, working closely with many local photographers in helping women to look and feel their best. She works closely with local photographer Emily Parsons to style hair, apply makeup and help create images that are utterly spectacular. Her work isn’t limited to photography, and is a well-known and certified makeup artist having attended the Blanche Macdonald School.
You’ll also find Laura teaching Burlesque Fit at Judy Russell’s Dance Centre, as well as performing onstage, dancing, singing, and acting with many Judy Russell Presents productions. In all things she does, her primary focus remains the same, encouraging women to find their confidence and reminding them of their strength. She is a firm believer that women spend too much time tearing each other down, and that it’s important to build each other back up.
“Laura works passionately to help others achieve and believe in themselves,” says one supporter. “Artists and volunteers like Laura are what make Prince George a better place.” Through her creative lens, she offers others an opportunity to look at things a little differently, bringing diversity and artistry to the community.
