I used to go berry picking with my family when I was a kid in Southern Ontario so I love that there are options near Prince George where I can revisit this childhood activity.
U-picking great way for families and friends to get out in nature, eat and support local, and provide some really cool social media opportunities for our budding Insta-stars.
Here are three spots you can visit in late summer to pick your own fruit. Please check with farm prior to visiting for current safety updates and availability.
Sweder Berries U-Pick
Location: Sweder Rd, Prince George, BC
Sweder Berries U-Pick has pick-your-own raspberries, blueberries and saskatoons. All berries are pesticide-free. Sweder Berries is located 40 km south of Prince George, BC on Hwy 97 South.
Rainbow Berry Farm
Location: 18070 Chief Lake Road Prince George, BC
Rainbow Berry Farm offers pick-your-own raspberries and saskatoons. A great little article about this place says this place has been operating for over 19 years!
Koster’s Farm and Garden
Location: 1559 West Fraser Road Quesnel, BC
Koster’s Farm and Garden is about a 1.5 hour drive from Prince George. It offers pick-your-own raspberries and a variety of fruits and veggies for sale, including fresh potatoes, corn, peas, beans, beets, carrots, pumpkins, pickling cucumbers, squash, onions, tomatoes, garlic, strawberries, homemade jams, syrups, and pickles.
The Great Northern Outdoors and Moose, Mushrooms and Mud

Location: Well, wherever you can find them! Some picking spots include Ginter’s backside trails, close toward Otway, and others all throughout the Prince George Area.
Many Prince George locals share their favourite places to pick wild raspberries, saskatoons and blueberries, and edible fungi throughout the picking season through The Great Northern Outdoors Facebook page. Foraging is encouraged but always leave enough for the remaining population to easily recover, never take more than you can use, and ALWAYS positively identify anything you plan to eat (beyond a shadow of a doubt).
