RECORDS, INFORMATION AND PRIVACY COORDINATOR
The Regional District’s administrative office is located in Prince George, in North Central, BC on the unceded ancestral lands of the Lheidli T’enneh. The Regional District has an opening in the Corporate Services Department for a Records, Information and Privacy Coordinator. Reporting to the General Manager of Legislative and Corporate Services (Corporate Officer), this exempt position is responsible for the Regional District’s records, and information management program, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPPA) requirements and requests, privacy management and related organizational training.
This position will also administer the organization’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy program. The Supervisor acts as the Freedom of Information (FOI) Coordinator and responds to requests for access to records and requests made under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
The Coordinator has a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s implementation of a new Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) and supports the overall development, application, and maintenance of the centralized Records Management Program. It also will regularly collaborate with other departments to develop and improve information governance practices and provide advice, training, and guidance to the management team, staff, and volunteer Fire Chiefs on FOIPPA and records management policies, procedures, and compliance.
The position acts as the Freedom of Information (FOI) Coordinator and with the support of a Records Management Corporate Services Assistant will handle information requests, interpret, and apply FOIPPA regulations, review and analyze complex data for release, and make recommendations. Additionally, the role involves assisting in drafting and reviewing Privacy Impact Assessments.
Qualifications and Experience
•Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by education or training in local government administration, records management, privacy management, and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
•Minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in the records and information management field, preferably in a local government or public sector environment.
•Ability to interpret and apply the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and familiarity with the Local Government Management Association’s (LGMA) Records Management Manual would be an asset.

The salary range for this position is $76,750 – $99,140 (2025 rate) and will be commensurate with education and years of experience.
