About the opportunity:
We are developing a contingency list for summer seasonal and temporary summer opportunities in the Labourer 1 position over the 2025 season. In this position your duties will include manual maintenance and construction work performed by the Civic Operations Department (Utilities, Roads & Fleet and Parks & Solid Waste). Performing a variety of skilled tasks and varied manual work involving considerable physical effort and agility, you will be expected to work in a safe manner following all applicable safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
About your background:
You have completed a minimum of Grade 10 or GED. Along with previous physical labour work experience, you have sufficient physical strength and stamina to perform the required duties. A valid WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 certification is considered an asset. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to use tools and equipment related to the work in a safe and efficient manner will also assist you in this diverse position. A valid, full privilege Class 5 BC driver’s license (or out of province equivalent) is required. Also, as a condition of employment, the incumbent must obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check for offenses related to the position.

Summer seasonal positions are subject to layoff typically in October and are recalled annually.
