About the opportunity:
In the Transportation and Technical Services Portfolio, you will be responsible for managing the full life cycle of projects, including initiation, detailed design, construction administration, inspection, project management, and closeout. Duties include designing transportation projects, developing and coordinating projects and budgets, administering programs, liaising with construction crews, and processing/approving permits, and inspections. The ideal candidate has progressive experience in survey, design, and management of road construction projects
About your background:
The role requires a 2-year post-secondary civil engineering technology diploma from a recognized institute, along with certification as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) in British Columbia for levels 3 and 4. Preference will be given to candidates with project management or design course experience. Engineering Technologist 1: Minimum 2 years’ civil engineering experience. Engineering Technologist 2: Minimum 3 years’ civil engineering experience, including 1 year in municipal or consulting. Engineering Technologist 3: Minimum 5 years progressive experience in municipal or consulting. Engineering Technologist 4: Minimum 8 years’ progressive experience, including 2 years delivering complex projects and providing high-level technical support. A full privilege Class 5 BC driver’s license (or out-of-province equivalent) is required.
