It might have a diverse economy, but Prince George is still well known as a blue-collar city. For some girls, the thought of a blue-collar, industry town sounds like a death wish – trust me I get it. The thought that maybe you won’t be able to get your perfect highlights from an A-list stylist is actually the worst – the struggle is REAL.
But I am here to tell you that I am a HUGE princess and Prince George has all the quality spas, salons and shops to meet any girl’s every need. Even if you’re a long-time resident of Prince George, I’m going to let you in on all my personal favourites and beauty secrets, so you may even find a new gem to add to your own list.

Core Salon and Spa is one of my personal favourites. It’s big city trendy atmosphere and coffee service as soon as you walk in the door make any visit enjoyable. With a full-service spa and salon on site, there isn’t any beauty need that Core doesn’t fulfil.
Core has a large staff of highly skilled stylists. This is one place I can walk in the door and I can feel confident that any one of their staff will do an excellent job of exactly what I want (and I will be honest that I am pretty particular). Highlights, balayage or extensions – this salon is the secret to my blonde locks.
Get rid of unwanted facial hair
Girlfriends Brow Bar is a fairly new business in the city and it has taken off! If you visit this little gem, you’ll know exactly why. Girlfriends specializes in unwanted facial hair. They truly make this as relaxing as an experience as it can be. My personal favourite part? After a service, they give you a coconut moisturizer massage that feels like a mini-facial!
Enjoy a massage at your personal oasis
If you’re looking for a top-notch spa that rivals places like Harrison Hot Springs and five-star resorts, you need to visit Body Elements Spa and Wellness Centre! This is my personal oasis in the city. As soon as you walk through the door they whisk you away to a quiet room, complete with waterfall for your relaxation to begin. If there is a hidden spa gem in Prince George, this is IT!

Getting a pedi at Victoria Nails!
When you’re looking for a quick pedi to get your toes ready or need an appointment on the fly, Victoria Nails is my go-to place. They take a quick no-frills pedi to the next level with their paraffin with every gel polish and hot stone massage. On those days where you look down and cringe at your toes and think, I need a pedi now, you can bet that I am making a stop there on my way home.
When I want a truly relaxing spa pedicure where I lay back in a private room, I always call Trend Setters Salon and Day Spa. They do an electronic callus removal which leaves your feet silky smooth and without all the painful tickling. With only two chairs in your private room, this is truly the best place when you want to celebrate a special day with your bestie. Bonus? You can have wine.
Lashes for days
Lashes have become a HUGE trend; however, lashes are also terrifying as you hear so many horror stories (I even have a couple of my own). I have tried many different lash businesses, and Lashology clearly stands out as the front-runner. This home operated business gives you a chance to snooze to soft tunes and escape life. The best part is that when you wake up, you look like Beyoncé.

Every beauty girl knows that nails are essential. And finding the right nail tech is tough. I’ve been going to Courtney at Sapphire Lotus Nail Studio for over five years now. I get compliments on every set of nails that I have! Courtney is incredibly talented. There is truly nothing she cannot do. From simple gel polish to intricate hand painting, these are truly the best nails in town. My favourite part? She gives the best hand massage when your nails are complete!
