The fall chill is definitely in the air but luckily, there are plenty of events happening in October to keep you busy and warm. Here’s our monthly event wrap up we put together in partnership with Tourism Prince George to give you some ideas for how to enjoy October.

Find some treasures at the city’s biggest garage sale

Calling all treasure hunters and deal lovers: the Junk in the Trunk garage sale is back! People eager to clear out their homes before winter will be crowding into the CN Centre parking lot on Saturday, October 5th. Make sure to get there when the sale starts at 9:00 am as the bargains being offered by up to 125 vendors won’t last long.

TEDxUNBC 2019: Past the Future

A mix of entrepreneurs, scientists, educators, and a performing artist are on the roster for the next TEDxUNBC. The 10 speakers will discuss the 2019 theme of Past the Future. Make sure to grab a ticket before they sell out, as this event is always popular

Aaron Pritchett – “Out on the Town” tour

As he prepares to release his 8th studio album, Canadian country music star Aaron Pritchett is bringing his “Out on the Town” tour to Prince George. He just released his single “Better When I Do”, which has hit the top of the Canadian country radio charts. If you’re a fan, grab your ticket from Heartbreakers.

Dracula: The Bloody Truth

Theatre NorthWest is offering a special presentation of Dracula: The Bloody Truth just in time for Halloween. This comedy is hysterical and thrilling but only suitable for ages 14 and older.

2019 Artisans of the North Fair

The Artisans of the North Fair offers one-of-a-kind, quality, handcrafted gifts created by over 90 of the region’s artisans that are sure to please everyone on your gift-giving list. Parking and admission to the Fair are free!

Spooktacular Halloween events

Looking for something fun to do for Halloween? Or maybe a few scares? There are plenty of Halloween celebrations happening at the end of October to get you in the Halloween spirit.

  • Halloween at the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum: Bundle up and head to the Railway and Forestry Museum for Haunted Train Tours to The Final Stop. You have two chances to catch a haunted train tour and indulge in Bone-Dogs and Witches’ Brew: October 19th and 26th. Admission is free with a non-perishable food item donation to the St. Vincent de Paul’s food bank.
  • Halloween Spooktacular: A family favourite, Halloween Spooktacular returns to Huble Homestead on October 25th and 26th. This bone-chilling, hair-raising event offers a range of festive and spooky experiences for those who are faint of heart or very brave. Make sure to bring a flashlight, wear waterproof footwear, and dress warmly.
  • 19+ Menagerie: Zombie Beach Party: The 9th incarnation of this annual fundraising event hosted by Two Rivers Gallery promises to be a spectacular evening of entertainment, food, fun, and games. There’s no need to dress up like a zombie but you do need to be 19+ to attend this October 26th
  • Creepy Crawly Halloween: Throw on your best costume and head to the Legion for A Creepy Crawly Halloween with Flying Machine, Children of the Wave, and The Brain Porter. Like many Halloween events, this one is happening on October 26th.
  • Pumpkin Walk: The Northern Lights Estate Winery is once again hosting a Pumpkin Walk. Head to the winery on October 27th to take a spooky walk down a path lined with carved pumpkins while haunting music plays in the background. Bring your carved pumpkin for a chance to win a prize and make sure to dress up.
