There’s still time to enjoy summer if you haven’t made the most of it yet. Here’s our monthly event wrap up we put together in partnership with Tourism Prince George to help you enjoy all that August has to offer.

Embrace your inner foodie at Foodie Fridays

Enjoying a sunny Foodie Friday.

Foodie Fridays are back! Forget your lunch every Friday in August and follow your nose downtown to the Canada Games Plaza from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. You’ll find delicious dishes offered by a variety of licensed sidewalk and food truck vendors, which you can eat while listening to live music.

Cariboo Rocks the North 2019

Cariboo Rocks the North

Pacific Western Brewing, in partnership with the CN Centre, is bringing back Cariboo Rocks the North, Prince George’s classic music festival. Weekend and day passes are available so you can get your fill of 11 classic rock bands including Trooper, Doug and the Slugs, and Chilliwack.

Head to the BC Northern Exhibition for some excitement

The BC Northern Exhibition is always a summertime favourite. There will be plenty of West Coast Amusements rides and games, a food court, musical entertainment, and displays by commercial vendors, not-for-profits, crafters/artisans, 4-H, and quilters. Don’t miss the heavy horse and superdog shows!

Watch some “outrageous” female impersonators

Ready for some laughs? Grab your tickets for the Crazy Senoritas, who are a troupe of female impersonators from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Their show features humorous musical tributes, warped adult humour and hilarious interactions with audience members.

Enjoy a movie under the stars

Grab your partner, your family or some friends and head to the Northern Lights Estate Winery to watch a movie under the stars. Dirty Dancing will be screened on a large outdoor projection screen at the winery’s ampitheatre. Chairs will be provided, but bring your own and some blankets if you want to maximize the comfort of your viewing experience.

Family Fun Day

Grab your family and head to the Central BC Railway and Forestry Museum to enjoy a day of train-tastic fun. Family Fun Day will include interactive activities, games, live music and rides on the Cottonwood Minirail Train for only $3.00 per person! Make sure to bring a towel and spare clothing as there will be water toys and games set-up if the weather is good. Admission to this event is by donation to Two Bunnies Rescue and/or the Prince George Humane Society.
