Get to know Prince George from a local point of view.

Exploring Prince George by foot, bike, or Adventure Bus

Creating tours and showcasing our city is something I love to do through my local adventure company the Adventure Bus Tour Co. So I thought I would come up with a few easy ideas that you could do with your friends, family or for a different kind of date night!

Tours are best when you can combine delicious eats and thirst quenching beverages so let’s start with a walking tour that is sure to incorporate some tasty stops.

By foot

First off let’s make an evening out of it! Instead of just picking one restaurant to go to why not make it a walking appy adventure. Start your tour at the top of 3rd Ave, just off Victoria. Share an appy and have a great glass of wine at North 54. From there wander on down to Betulla Burning or Nancy O’s (both are amazing, so choose one or both) how fun is this, more food! After that you can make your way down to White Goose Bistro if you have room left in your belly or head to CrossRoads to finish off the evening off with a craft pint on their patio!

By bike

It’s time to grab your helmet and blow up your tires and head out for a biking adventure. One of our favorites is a leisurely ride from Exploration Place all the way to Northern Lights Winery. This is an easy 12 km round trip ride that takes you through Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park, along the river, under the train bridge, through Cotton Wood Island Park and finally to the Winery! Grab a seat on the patio, stroll through their gardens, take some photos out at the sunflower bed, enjoy some wine and amazing food. After you have taken in the sights, hop back on your bike and ride back to your starting point. Always make sure to travel safely, if you are planning on having a few drinks remember to plan appropriately and have a safe ride home!

We are so excited to launch our brewery tours as this is a tour you can take part in through every season! We are an outdoor adventure company after all, so of course we like to start our tours with a walk through upper McMillan Park so that our guests can take in the city views and work up a thirst! Post city view stroll our guests hop back onto the bus and we will start our brewery tour off at the new and hopefully opening this fall Dead fall brewery, we are stoked to support this new brewery and try out a flight! Next stop is Crossroads Brewery for a pint or flight and we finish the evening off at Trench Brewing for some wicked smoke house grub and wash it down with some of the tastiest brews around!

Our city has so much to offer and it doesn’t take much to create a fun day, evening or tour out of a few local stops. What is your favorite spot in the city? Let us know by tagging @MoveUpPG and @TheAdventureBus on Facebook and Instagram with your favorite photos.
