How to spend a day relaxing in Prince George

With back to school, work and other commitments, it’s no wonder most of us have some level of stress in our lives!

It’s more important now than ever to take time for ourselves.  And there’s no better place to get some R&R than in your own backyard. I’d like to invite you along as I spend a perfect day of pampering in Prince George.

You can do it- coffee

There is nothing like waking up to the sweet aromatic waft of a freshly brewed pot of joe. That fresh coffee smell is one of the only ways to get me out of bed in the am. If there was a way to bottle it and wear it on date nights, I would. So it shouldn’t come to any surprise that sitting in a coffee house is my own little slice of heaven.

I started today by heading to a local favourite, Zoë’s Café, for my typical coconut latte and veggie-friendly panini.

Another downtown Prince George darling is my best-loved go to bookshop, Books and Company. With a Google average of 4.7 stars from nearly 400 people, I’m obviously not the only one who loves their artsy vibe. Their Sunday Scrabble game night or open mic night are always a great time, but for today, I’m just going to peruse and grab myself yet another self-help book.

Would this really be a true day of R&R without a stop at a local spa?

Azure Advanced Aesthetics is located just behind the old swimming pool downtown and they have a long list of services available to choose from. These gals offer anything from laser hair removal to massages, but today I’ve gone full stress relief steam ahead a decided on their Supreme pedicure.

I probably visit the staff at Azure once every couple of months, and I don’t see this stopping any time soon. It’s the perfect place to spend your day of bliss and I will continue to indulge here until they shut their doors or my husband takes my credit card away.

Calm the mind, heal the spirit.

To wrap this day up in a nice zen zone bow, I’m headed to Chinook Yoga for their Monday night Hatha class.

Carolyn Manhas is an incredible teacher. She’s cool and calm mixed with a bit of spunk, you’ll love her I promise. Plus her 5:15 pm class ends just in time to get me home for my 7 pm bedtime.
