The BC Government has started relaxing COVID-19 restrictions, allowing people to gather in groups of up to six and at events of up to 50 while following physical distancing measures. Many events are still being held online, but there are some new in-person options to look forward to in June that weren’t possible in previous months. Kids Drive-In Trivia Multiple Choice Madness
Get your kids back into learning mode as they transition from home schooling to in-person classes with Kids Drive-in Trivia. This week’s theme is multiple choice questions aimed at kids in grades 1-5. Make sure to register for this event using the Facebook link provided as there is a 50 car maximum.

The Farmers’ Market is back!
Have you been craving fresh locally produced veggies and fruits, baked goods, and meat? You’re in luck as the Prince George Farmers’ Market is set to reopen on June 6th after a 10-week hiatus due to COVID-19 restrictions. A number of safety measures are in effect and the number of patrons on site are limited to 50 at a time to continue curbing the spread of COVID-19.

Help your kids connect with nature
With the warmer weather and restrictions on hanging out with people indoors who aren’t members of your household, there’s no time like the present to start spending more time outdoors. The YMCA Child Care Resource and Referral Centre is helping with this by offering two workshops to help you explore nature: Loving Outdoors through Literature and Connections in Nature.

2020 PGCC Kids Race Series and Enduros
The Prince George Cycling Club is gearing up for the 2020 Kids Race Series and Enduros. The series is for kids of any age up to 14, including run bikes. The first race is being held on June 5th, with monthly races to be held into September.

The Hart Market Bake Sale
The Hart Market is holding a bake sale featuring delicious baked goods and a selection of summer clearance items from Simply Beautiful. Physical distancing will be practiced and heightened cleaning measures will be in place.

Beat the Bugs Trail Race 2020
The 11th Beat the Bugs Trail Race is being held at the scenic Otway Nordic Ski Centre on June 20th. Sign up for the 5 km or 10 km course and get ready to run. There’s also a 1 km option for kids.

Father’s Day Cruise for a Cause
The Prince George Cruisin’ Classics has cancelled the 2020 Father’s Day Show-n-Shine, but never fear classic vehicle lovers! The club is hosting the Father’s Day Cruise for a Cause in its place. Participants of previous Father’s Day Show-n-Shines will gather at the CN Centre parking lot before setting out on a 50-70 km drive around the city so people can safely enjoy looking at their favourite classic vehicles. Organizers have consulted with the BC Health Authority and the City of Prince George to ensure the parade adheres to mass gathering and physical distancing requirements. Each participant will be asked to make a cash donation to the Salvation Army Food Bank in any amount they can afford.

Drive-In movie night
The Park Drive-In Theatre is open for the summer season! After making some operational adjustments, you can now enjoy a night out from the safety of your own vehicles. Movies change nightly and run Thursday – Sunday.

Explore your history
The Exploration Place is currently closed, but you can still learn with them. Join them every day at 10:00 am on their Facebook page for animal visits, science demos, and more. You can also explore the history of Prince George through their online exhibits. There’s no better time than the present to learn about the past!
