What better way to enjoy the fantastic spring weather than by checking out some great events! Here’s an event wrap up for the month of May put together by Tourism Prince George in partnership with us.

Northern FanCon

Northern FanCon returns for its fifth Anniversary! Go see the awesome selection of guests, vendors, artists, and cosplayers you have come to expect PLUS some special extras at the CN Centre. This year’s lineup includes the original Hulk, Lou Ferrigno, and Alan Tudyk from Star Wars and Firefly. To purchase tickets head to Ticketsnorth.ca.

Jack and the Bean

Presentation House Theatre is thrilled to present Linda A. Carson’s enthralling new spin on the much-loved children’s classic, Jack and the Magic Bean. This imaginative adaptation finds Jack surrounded by land that just won’t grow anything. Compelled to sell his beloved toys to feed his hungry family, Jack instead trades them for magic beans, from which a towering beanstalk grows. Jack climbs the beanstalk and is taken on an amazing journey filled with excitement and peril. Children, young and old, will delight in this simple, but highly engaging, environmental tale. Prince George May Carnival

Based in British Columbia, West Coast Amusements is the largest Canadian midway operation in Western Canada, and one of the few that remains family-operated. This fun-filled carnival takes place at the Prince George Exhibition Grounds. Buy a wristband to access all the rides at the Prince George May Carnival!

Rock of Ages

The mind-blowing, face melting, nothin’ but a good time, audience favorite Rock of Ages comes to the CN Centre in Prince George. This great show features the music of Styx, Poison, Twisted Sister, and Whitesnake among many others! This Tenth Anniversary production revisits the larger than life characters and exhilarating story that turned ROCK OF AGES into a global phenomenon! Tickets range from $29.50 to $89.50 depending on seats and are available at TicketsNorth.ca.

Prince George Bike Rave

The Prince George Bike Rave is happening on May 11th. That’s not a typo, it’s a Bike RAVE! Kaiten Mixed Martial Arts Academy and Atmosphere Entertainment, Visual Universe; are hosting this FREE community event. It’s designed as an opportunity to spend quality time with your family and friends. Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park is going to be lit up like you have never seen it before. Imagination and creativity is the goal, so dress up with white or bright colours, find flashy things or lights for you and your bike. Show your style!

ELKS May Day Parade

The 88th Annual ELKS May Day Parade is BACK! Proudly organized by the Prince George ELKS Lodge 122 & the Prince George ELKS Community Hall, this family oriented, fun-filled parade gets underway at noon at the corner of 7th and Dominion Street.

Spring on the Homestead

Wave goodbye to winter and celebrate spring at Huble Homestead’s two-day season opener: Spring on the Homestead! Watch or participate in heritage activities such as the May-pole dance, planting the garden, and making butter and ice cream. Reacquaint yourself with the historic site by taking a guided tour, and explore the buildings by taking part in a treasure hunt. Help them kick off celebrating 30 years of Huble Homestead, by checking out the launch of the new, year-long exhibit that provides details about the opening of the park.

CrossRoads Street Festival

Come enjoy the free, family-friendly community events featuring displays, demos, clinics, and show and shines at the CrossRoads Street Festival. There will be fun interactive activities to encourage kids and adults to discover and try different outdoor recreation opportunities. This portion of the day takes place from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. The ticketed, evening event kicks off at 6pm and goes until midnight. Here you can experience fun, safe adult-oriented activities with fantastic live music, local craft beer, street food and interactive outdoor party games.
