Native Healing Centre – Health Services

The PGNFC Peer Assisted Care Team (PACT) provides an alternative to the presence of police personnel at mental health crisis calls in Prince George. The teams offer crisis support services that integrate cultural safety protocols and holistic care options. Mobile teams comprise of a mental health professional and a peer (someone with lived or living experience) which are available during service hours to support personnel during a mental health crisis.

This program aims to reduce the harms experienced by people who have or are suffering a mental health crisis. The PACT Clinical Supervisor will incorporate knowledge and experiences in crisis assessment and intervention, de-escalation, harm reduction, suicide prevention, anti-oppressive practice, client-centred and recovery-oriented care, trauma-informed practice, and culturally competent care to support the PACT team and offer guidance and patient follow up.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s level education from a recognized university, registered and in good standing with BCACC.
• Experience in Leadership/Supervisory and in community mental health and addictions field.
• Certification in or willing to obtain: First Aid, Class 4 Driver’s License, Suicide Intervention, and Conflict Resolution, Naloxone Training, other training as needed.
• Ability to undergo a successful criminal record search.
• Ability to multi-task and support the team in debriefing from multiple crisis calls.
• A strong knowledge of clinical and crisis assessments, concurrent disorders, homelessness, crisis intervention strategies, trauma-informed practice, strengths-based models.
• Experience and knowledge of working with persons with mental health and/or addictions issues as well as an understanding of the intersectionality of systemic barriers and social determinants of health.
• Experience conducting evaluations, providing feedback, and scheduling.
• The ability to maintain a non-judgmental and non-stigmatizing approach is required.
• Good verbal, written communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Wage $38/Hr.
